SCADA Developer

Introduction:
We are looking for a skilled SCADA Developer to join our team responsible for real-time SCADA systems managing multiple power plants across several European countries. The role is critical to maintaining the balance and stability of energy production assets, ensuring seamless communication between power plants and transmission system operators (TSOs). This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-stakes, real-time environment supporting a diverse range of power generation assets.

Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the real-time SCADA system across multiple countries, ensuring continuous and reliable monitoring and control of various power plants including thermal, hydraulic, and others.
Maintain real-time connectivity and data exchange between SCADA systems, transmission system operators (TSOs), and power plants to ensure grid stability and balance.
Analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy SCADA applications and updates for small projects and operational requests, following best practices and coding standards.
Perform thorough testing and validation of SCADA system components to guarantee performance, reliability, and compliance with operational requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues swiftly in production environments, minimizing downtime and operational impact.
Collaborate closely with automation engineers, operations teams, and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
Document technical designs, configurations, changes, and user guides to support knowledge sharing and system maintenance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize SCADA processes and system functionality.
Support commissioning and upgrade activities, including system installation and configuration in live environments.
Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies and best practices in all SCADA development and operations.
Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and enforcement of coding standards and operational protocols.

You have the following skills

Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in SCADA and PLC programming.Languages
Fluent in English and French; Dutch is a plus.
Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electricity production and power grid transport systems.
Proficiency or willingness to learn SCIL programming language for SCADA system configuration and automation (training will be provided).
Experience or interest in programming and scripting languages relevant to SCADA development (e.g., VBScript, Python, SQL, or similar).
Familiarity with SCADA platforms and tools, including system configuration, alarm management, and data visualization.
Basic knowledge of PLC programming concepts and logic, understanding how programmable logic controllers interact with SCADA systems.
Understanding of RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) configuration and communication protocols, especially IEC 60870-5-104 (IEC104).
Web development basics, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, useful for developing user interfaces or dashboards.
Fundamentals of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, and network protocols to troubleshoot and optimize communications.
Basic Windows Server configuration skills, including user management, permissions, and system maintenance.
Familiarity with OSIsoft PI system for real-time data management and historian capabilities is an advantage.
Ability and willingness to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and business requirements within the power dispatching domain.
Votre profil

Proven experience (5+ years) in SCADA and PLC programming.Languages:
