Business Analyst (Data-Driven Decision Making – KPI Framework & Reporting Enablement) – Freelance

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support a customer in the manufacturing sector near Waregem on a freelance mission focused on improving data-driven decision making across operational and commercial domains.

The goal is to help the business define their KPIs, improve reporting structures, and drive adoption of a more analytics-driven culture across departments.

The program aims to move away from fragmented, manual Excel-based reporting towards a harmonised, self-service reporting landscape built on modern BI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Engage with key business functions (finance, sales, operations, supply chain) to identify reporting needs and current gaps
• Facilitate workshops to define relevant KPIs and reporting logic aligned with business strategy
• Document functional requirements for dashboard and reporting development
• Collaborate with BI/data engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable data models
• Support testing and validation of dashboards during rollout phases
• Help establish governance and standards around reporting processes and metric definitions
• Support user adoption through documentation and light training

Profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Reporting Analyst
• Strong background in data requirements gathering and KPI definition
• English-speaking (Dutch is a strong plus)

Additional Details

SENIORITY: Senior

START DATE: August / September 2025 (or earlier if available)

DURATION: 12 months (extension likely)

CONTRACT: Freelance

LOCATION: Waregem region / Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week)

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

LANGUAGES: English (Dutch a plus)
