Duties And Role

Important to introduce and control the coordinated hardware asset management in NISC. This role is to bring additional value for management of the ECIS budget by the NISC SDMs & SAOs. This role is to synchronize information required to be collaborated with the external to NISC entities responsible for the Asset Management (e.g. ACPV, AMPO etc).
  • Aggregate the information stored locally (by either SDM or SA level) to the NISC level
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the asset management data content to be stored in the NISC dedicated toolset;
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the interfaces processing asset management data between maintained NISC CMDB and other source (internal & external) of asset data as required
  • Provide the technical reports (performance, incidents, problems) and documentation related to the NISC asset management as required
  • Support the maintenance of NISC CMDB within the scope of the asset management (relevant attributes of assets, normalization & standardization)
  • Contribute to the transition of the legacy asset management within the SAs into the modern NISC CMDB
  • Develop the workflows in ITSM toolset automating the service and change requests related to the Asset Management
  • Ensure compliance with NATO and commercial regulatory requirements related to Asset Management as well as security standards;
  • Contribute to the NISC Asset & Configuration Management service improvements
  • Assist to the Configuration, Change & Release Management processes with clarification concerning the assets
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with management of NISC hardware asset data , contributing to the relevant organization plans & documentation;
  • Collaborate with NISC service delivery managers to validate the assets in CMDB concerning: accuracy, applicability of assets with relevant relationships;
  • Monitor and report NISC Asset Hardware Management information based on relevant to performance metrics;
  • Collaborate & coordinate with dependent & interconnected DBs owners and toolsets
  • Deputize for higher grade staff, if required;
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret (or equivalent) already in place

  • Proficiency in the management of the ITSM BMC Remedy software;
  • Proficiency in the management of the databases;
  • Service-minded attitude;
  • Ability to take initiative and a flexible approach allowing the incumbent to respond reliably and competently to changing requirements in a demanding environment;
  • Extreme accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to be responsive and sensitive to both external and internal customers and staff;
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with the management of CMDB.
  • Good communication skills with demonstrated ability to present information in a clear and logical manner both in writing and by other means;
  • Proven ability to act when needed, in accordance within Senior Management directives, and take initiative to deliver even when under pressure with limited instructions and minimal supervision;
  • Strong knowledge about the asset management (ITIL v.3&4) related to the management of modern IT services.
  • Familiarity with other processes interacting with asset management.
  • Sound knowledge in the use of automation using Ansible & Python
  • Good knowledge of the architecture ITSM systems and relevant dependencies
  • Good knowledge about the development of data collaboration interface using API & REST API interfaces
  • Sound knowledge in Communication and Information Systems (CIS) within NATO environment.
  • Good knowledge about the Broadcom Service Management software
  • Sound knowledge about the network management principles.
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organisation including NATO Security Policy and supporting directives;
  • Proficiency in the management of the large amount of assets & configuration items (> dozens/hundreds thousands)
  • Good experience in the use of automation using Ansible & Python
  • Sound experience in the use of Microsoft packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), required to provide/deliver a technical reports & documentation
  • Experience in building & maintenance of the Service Tree
  • Good experience in the development and maintenance of the data collaboration interface using API & REST API interfaces
  • Experience working in an environment with a high volume work load
  • Proven Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) experience directly supporting senior staff in a sizeable organisation, preferably one in the government defence sector or in an international organisation, a national public administration (civil or military), or the private defence sector;
  • Experience of working in an international environment, preferably incorporating both military and civilian elements
