As Chapter Lead, you have the challenge to build a team of engineers and ensure they can grow and evolve within SWIFT. You will be responsible for the staffing and people management. You will act as a coach, identifying development needs and ensuring knowledge sharing.
Working in an agile context, you also participate to the activities of one squad, using your technical expertise to participate to the design and development of Market Infrastructure solutions and therefore directly contribute to the success of SWIFT’s portfolio of products dedicated to domestic payment systems. Acting as a Chapter Lead
You are responsible for the leadership of a group of engineers, in terms of staffing, coaching, growing the individuals, sharing best practices & knowledge within the chapter. More precisely, you are expected to:
- Handle people management activities, such as recruitment, assignment of the correct engineering resources, setting objectives, conducting performance appraisals
- Ensure consistency of technical expertise across the chapter in terms of software development (JAVA), database management (Oracle, MySQL), cloud (AWS, Azure) and container tools.
- Ensure best practices and recent trends are applied within the team, in terms of technologies, development tools or DevOps principles. Follow future trends via education, conferences or articles
- Create a culture of excellence and continuous learning, of knowledge & experience sharing between the members, allowing professional growth of the chapter members
- Build a network outside the chapter, maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders
- Orchestrate the feedback collection and introduce a positive feedback culture
You work on the development and the maintenance of a cloud based solution managing the end-to-end flows of mandates and domestic payments. The service is planned to start live operations in 2022 and will serve the financial institutions members of that important market infrastructure. You participate to the activities and the success of the squad, in terms of lead developer:
- You are part of a dynamic team using up-to-date technologies and applying agile software delivery practices
- You participate to the full product lifecycle. While doing so, you use your expertise to influence how the requirements are implemented, and participate to the software design and solution development.
- You design and develop, using technologies such as Spring Boot, Java, Oracle and MySQL DBs in an API based environment.
- You analyse technical and functional requirements, translate them into software solutions. You work on the technical feasibility and cost estimates of the proposed solutions.
- You monitor technical and security product evolution related to OS and DB aspects
- You have the opportunity to develop yourself and others in a true BizDevOps agile environment; engaging in the product evolution, covering software architecture, development, quality assurance, security, operations and IT infrastructure aspects
- Master degree in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience as a JAVA developer
- Practical experience in software design, in writing clean, testable and maintainable code.
- Experience with Oracle and/or MySQL and DB query optimisation.
- Familiar with Spring Boot applications framework
- Familiar with UNIX operating system, preferably RHEL.
- Experience with building REST APIs, knowledge of Swagger and API Gateways is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CK, build processes and tools, or infrastructure as code, is an asset.
- Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), in containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes etc.) is an asset.
- Experience in Agile and Scrum development is an asset
- Knowledge of financial message standards (ISO20022, FIN) is an asset
