Our Customs Services team is growing and we are looking for a Compliance Advisor to actively contribute to compliance and understand legal requirements as well as internal work processes to minimize risk for Maersk. This fulfilling role will include processes through regulatory and customer requirements. You will have the opportunity to work closely on strategy at a Customs Delivery level with a particular focus on the Customs Compliance business in the Country.

Using your experience and competence within the Customs business industry, you will effectively help us shape compliance and legal requirements.

What could your day look like at Maersk Customs Services?

You will be monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring implementation in the organization; participating in external and internal audits and becoming an important team member in customs related projects.

You will build Business intelligence, and will have the opportunity to assist with in-house training; further developing internal tools for Compliance.

Your focus will be to support the Customs Delivery organization as a subject matter expert, working actively with risk management and report deviations.

As Compliance advisor you will attend meetings with customers and authorities and you will monitor and follow up on customs claims on a country level.

You can expect to communicate with authorities, and to participate in certifications/audits of quality assurance programs (AEO, ISO, etc.)

What do you bring to Maersk Customs Services?

You have knowledge of customs issues, and have been working in Customs for several years.

For this role it is imperative that you are perfect Dutch-speaking and have a good knowledge of English - as you will need to communicate with people internally and externally regularly - maintaining contact with both customers and customs and being able to answer their questions.

You should have excellent writing skills - to be able to write letters of objection to customs.

Of course you are administratively strong and punctual!

You will also use your experience of performing internal quality control, and preparing reports. You will be working everyday with our Stream customs software.
