The MS 2nd Line Compliance team
The MS 2nd Line of Defence Compliance team forms part of Worldline’s second line of defence and its mission is to manage Worldline’s policies in accordance to applicable laws and regulations, support the business as an independent function in identifying, assessing and addressing relevant financial, operational, security and compliance obligations and risks incl. legal and scheme regulations
The team’s primary responsibility is to oversee and support the business lines as an independent compliance function in identifying, assessing and addressing relevant regulations in the jurisdictions where Worldline operates.
We focus on fostering a strong compliance aware culture and support Worldline employees in taking adequate fact based decisions.
The role
Under the responsibility of the WL MS Head of Regulatory Compliance, the Regulatory Data Scientist is responsible for tackling the regulated and non-regulated Payments Institution’s external reporting obligations (transaction volume, fraud, card scheme compliance, AML) and ensuring that the data is consistent .
The Regulatory Data Scientist turns the huge amounts of data generated by payment transactions into unique insights that improve our measurement, monitoring and steering of MS regulatory reporting obligations.
He/she/they uses data mining and statistical analysis to improve data quality and constancy for timely regulatory reporting and perform analysis on AML transaction monitoring & FIU reporting.
He/she/they partners with product teams, operations, data engineers and risk and compliance experts to create, update and automate the regulatory reports and follows the regulatory reporting obligations developments across the different geographies from start to finish; including all stages of project identification, stakeholder engagement, project management, and closeout.
The Regulatory Data Scientist works in a collaborative environment but enjoys solution autonomy on projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
Regulatory Data Management & Project management
- In close collaboration with IT solutions & project teams and the Risk Data Management manages the data aggregation capabilities required to comply with regulatory reporting
- Ensures that business requirements provided to IT solutions & project teams for the development of regulatory reporting solutions meet the required standards
- Participates in data management initiatives regarding data (data quality, data governance, etc.)
- Validates (AML) data quality in case of platform and/or support tool migrations
Reporting, Monitoring & Control
- Contributes to the development of MS Compliance portfolio analysis and assessment
- Automates and manages the Payments Institution’s regulatory reporting, fraud and FIU reporting
- Implements data based controls and validation of PI, PSP and merchant AML risk models
Relations with key stakeholders
- Ensure close collaboration with data experts from 1st & 2nd line of defense as well as with AML & Compliance officers when developing AML management & control tools
Your Profile
- Master of Sciences degree or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Data Science, Quantitative marketing, Quantitative finance or similar)
- Mastery of data manipulation and analysis using either SQL or BI systems, or both
- Excellent understanding of relational model for database management and data modelling principles (conceptual/logical data models)
- Working knowledge of either R, Python or SAS for both data manipulation and statistical analysis
- Fluent English required; fluency in French beneficial
- Ability to manipulate and analyse large and complex data sets coming from internal and external sources
- Data-driven and outcome-focused; able to tell stories using data
- Takes personal ownership; self-starter; ability to drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work
- Result oriented and diligent with a strong ability to prioritize work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Learns continuously; seeks out knowledge, ideas and feedback
- Good communication skills for interacting effectively with both business and technical development teams
- Experience in the payments or financial services industry a plus
