Supply Chain consists of several departments within EMEA which form one team: the Supply Chain Team. We make sure Terumo’s customers stay satisfied and, most importantly, receive their orders on time.
Our team consists of: Customer Service EMEA, Supply Chain Planning, Network Optimization Lead and the European Distribution Centre (EDC). We also work closely together with Project Management, Quality and of course our Business Units.

Job Summary
As part of the Terumo SC Planning team, the main responsibility of the Demand Planner is to harness the organization’s knowledge and resources to produce sales forecasts that will be used in Sales and Operations Planning and Continuously improve the sales forecasting processes and systems, ensuring that demand KPI’s are consistently improving.
The recruitment process will consist out of an HR screening interview, testing and two business interviews, at least one interview to be conducted face to face in the Terumo HQ in Leuven.
Job Responsibilities
1. Support sales forecasting
- Collect market and customer intelligence, and make it available to everybody involved in the forecasting process
- Analyse sales trends and identify the key drivers of sales for key products and product groups
- Ensure that all documentation for the sales forecasting process is up-to-date and compliant with company standards
- Support the tender management process in collaboration with all stakeholders to minimize disruptive impact on the Supply Chain
- Report on any significant variances between forecasted sales and the organization’s budgets and business plans
2. Develop statistical forecasts
- Gather, analyse, and validate all data that will be used in preparing statistical forecasts
- Sense-check statistical forecasts and highlight any unexpected trends or forecasts
- Identify and lead the implementation of opportunities to improve forecast accuracy
3. Prepare and support the demand meeting and actively participate in the EMEA and global S&OP process
- Prepare reports and data that will be used in the demand meeting – part of the Sales and Operations Planning process
- Follow-up with all participants to ensure that actions agreed in the forecast reviews are completed in a timely manner
- Liaise with Sales and Marketing to ensure that their market and customer knowledge and plans are reflected in the forecasts
- Prepare, discuss and defend the EMEA allocation in the global S&OP meeting based on sharing feedback on reasons why the EMEA forecast shows a certain trend
4. Work with the BU to support life cycle management
- Monitor the sales performance of new and end-of-life products and develop a metric that can be used as a guide in future product launches / phase outs.
5. Close collaboration with the Inventory and Supply Planners
- Provide data on sales variability, forecast accuracy and future forecasts that are used in setting safety stocks and inventory planning parameters.
Profile Description
- An academic degree preferably in a Supply Chain or Business Engineering sphere
- Minimum of 3-year relevant working experience in supply chain management
- Highly analytical and result driven mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently but at the same time liaise and connect with various stakeholders
- Stellar Excel skills (Power Query & VBA considered as a real asset)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in English, other languages are considered a plus
- Ability to challenge stakeholders and instil change
- Knowledge of SAP S4Hana and VBA are considered a plus
