Your Tasks.

The Director of Sales Luxury Hotel is responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize revenue and profit performance of the hotel. Lead execution of the commercial strategy through management of the Sales team and activities. Direct report to General Manager

Team

  • The Director of Sales Luxury Hotel will lead the Sales department which includes the Conference & Events Team

Key responsabilities

  • Develops and implements the Commercial Activity Plan and controls costs

  • Jointly responsible for the creation of the yearly Business Plan of the hotel

  • Develops and coaches the team in order to achieve targets (RGI, Total revenue, Account development)

  • Analyses the different needs of market segments and client profiles and implements strategies/programs as appropriate to maximize profitability

  • Identifies sources of business available to the hotel and establishes sales, conference and events opportunities in solicitation of that business

  • Translates competitor intelligence into a working platform in order to develop & maintain a competitive advantage

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Responsible for the account development and acquisition in all segments, in order to achieve targets

  • Manages controlling of costs, business analysis and production reviews with the team

  • Educate all staff members on the Deutsche Hospitality Group and particularly on the Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Sales philosophy, strategies and implementation.

  • Strong collaboration with the relevant departments, especially Revenue Management in order to maximize profitability

Accountability

  • Achieve revenue & profit targets

  • Outperform competitive set in RGI

  • Decision rights: Implementation decisions in coordination with General Manager.

  • General Manager, Strategic Committee team & Cross departmental (HOD’s)

  • Deutsche Hospitality Hotel Group network

  • Colleagues within the competition & institutions and industry related associations

  • Management On Duty team


Our Requirements.

  • Work experience in comparable position in Sales - leading a team in the past years

  • You are a real sales pro and had active and verifiable sales successes in the service industry

  • You are creative, open-minded for new ideas and lead your team with charisma and structure

  • You are used to the implementation and controlling of new processes in order to achieve results and are a positive opinion maker esp. in change management

  • You have a background in business management, well-founded practical experience in the area of project and sales management and experience in leading and promoting team spirit

  • Personally, you convince with a structured and enterprising approach to work, a pronounced understanding of numbers, a persuasive nature and a high level of commitment

  • Intercultural competence as well as an excellent knowledge of English and French (another foreign language would be of advantage) is essential for working in an international environment

  • You are a confident user of MS Office programs
