Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!

Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job Description

At Amaris Consulting, we are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. We are currently seeking a talented Embedded Software Functional Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the functional safety of embedded software systems, adhering to safety standards, and driving the successful delivery of complex projects in various sectors.

???? Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and validate embedded software systems with a focus on functional safety.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Conduct safety analyses, including hazard analysis and risk assessment, to identify potential safety issues.
• Develop and implement safety plans, including verification and validation strategies for embedded software.
• Prepare and present comprehensive documentation, including safety reports and compliance evidence, to stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding functional safety matters, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Mentor and support junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to functional safety in embedded systems.
  

???? Your Profile:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development with a focus on functional safety.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing safety-critical embedded software projects.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and safety analysis techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in programming languages relevant to embedded systems (e.g., C, C++) and software development tools.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Relevant certifications in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety) are a plus.
• A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
