For one of our clients, an international player in the Food & Beverage industry, we are looking for a Global Foodservice Director for one of their business units.

The role is reporting directly to the executive committee of the company.

It has a cross-category as well as a cross-country responsibility.

The Global Foodservice Director needs to develop a strategy and, together with the local countries, implement it for the foodservice channel. S/He needs to define and execute a roadmap by which the company carries out a differentiating approach in the foodservice market. S/He needs to grow the business and maximize value by designing and implementing the foodservice strategy in the fields of market penetration, volume & profit growth, product portfolio and market approach. S/He needs to bring a structured and strategic perspective on the foodservice channel to the local countries.

Key elements on which the role needs to focus are:

  • Customer segmentation: deciding which segments (e.g. hotels, restaurants) and subsegments to focus on;
  • Field sales: reviewing & optimizing the local field sales teams to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness;
  • International key account/partnership management: developing partnership programmes to strengthen the relationships with key accounts and distributors;
  • Brands & solutions: related to a change within the company to focus more on own brands, leveraging these brands towards the foodservice channel;
  • Digital: contributing to the developing of a digital platform towards distributors & end customers as well as enhancing existing CRM tools.

S/He needs to ensure that the roadmap defined is successfully executed, setting the right priorities and moving forward step by step. As such, the position has a clear change agenda and should ensure that the local countries are on board in this transformational journey, achieving this by delivering added value to the countries.

For this role, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Relevant Master’s Degree such as Economics, Commercial Engineering;
  • Strong experience with the foodservice channel;
  • Excellent sales/commercial track record;
  • International experience, having experience in influencing cross-regionally;
  • Solid analytical-strategic mindset, able to develop a strategy and execute it with focus, across countries;
  • Good interpersonal and convincing skills, able to engage stakeholders both at central and local level.
