Pacific International has been retained by one of the world’s largest packaging manufacturing businesses. Our client is looking to fill a Human Resources Manager. In this role, you will have opportunities to take unique approaches to engage with the front-line workforce, while building out new HR strategies.

In this role you will act as a full business partner to (senior) management for a given entity at a strategic and tactical level, on a wide range of HR activities. The Human Resources Manager operates within the boundaries of the overall HR strategy, to contribute to the achievement of the business goals and targets. The Human Resources Manager contributes to the development and implementation of the HR strategy, targets, policies, processes, systems, and tools for the geography.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for refining & implementing the HR strategy in the site
  • Partner for Business Leaders: GM of the site & Core leadership team
  • Leads internal & external stakeholder management: HR R&D, HR NE Cluster, R&D leadership, Unions
  • Holds the HR budget & responsible of optimal resource allocation for HR in the site
  • Ensures talent management & performance management & Strategic Workforce Planning
  • Focus on leadership team, including selection process
  • Establish plans to reduce retention and increase engagement
  • Focus on succession planning, talent management, people & leadership development
  • Cultivates cultural identity and integration & drives transformation
  • Act as a central point of contact for HR-related questions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A proven experience within the manufacturing industry, combined with experience in an international, matrix-based environment is a big preference
  • Knowledge of Belgian labour legislation and strong negotiator within the minimum of 5 year’s working experience in the broad field of Human Resources
  • Preferred candidates will hold a master’s degree within HR or equivalent
  • Dutch speaking, with a very good knowledge of English
  • Strong knowledge of HR (best) practices and Labour Relations context
