We are looking for an Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Engineer for our Beringen and Tessenderlo Facilities
The industrial Control systems (ICS) Security Engineer is a technical role to implement CPChem’s security standards, procedures and tools to ensure the security and proper functioning of industrial control systems. The function will report to the Manufacturing Systems and Applications Lead.
The ICS security engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the hardware and application infrastructures that protects the integrity and availability of these critical systems. The ICS security engineer will also perform security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, implement and manage security controls, and develop and execute incident response plans.
The ICS security engineer will work closely with other members of the organization and with corporate in the US to ensure that the systems are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
ICS infrastructure and Projects
· Provide ICS infrastructure and user management support, including but not limited to windows operating systems, active directory maintenance, security patching, antivirus...
· Responsible for installation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of the ICS networks and associated equipment
· Implement ICS hardware and applications related projects.
· Coordinate with regional and corporate departments to implement engineering-focused IT projects.
· Develops or recommend equipment lifecycle and evergreen plans in coordination with technical dept.
· Coordinate Firewall changes to ensure plant process safety procedures are followed.
· Support the MOC (Management of Change) processes. Prepare documentation for the site’s ICS Security systems and complete required documents for making changes to the systems.
· Maintains Inventory and topologies of ICS Systems
Cybersecurity and Backups
· Stay up to date with the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies related to industrial control systems to mitigate any Cybersecurity risks.
· Develop and maintain security controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate policies.
· Participate in ICS audits and Cyber Security Vulnerability Assessments (CSVA).
· Track ICS Security exceptions, audit response plans, and other ICS Security efforts.
· Develop and execute business continuity and incident response plans (incl. backup/restore procedures) to address security incidents and minimize downtime
· Work closely with Corporate ICS Security group on security issues and system designs to ensure that business needs are balanced against security requirements.
Awareness and Training
· Create and present training and awareness programs to educate users on best practices for securing industrial control systems.
· Establish and sustain excellent internal and external contacts.
· Participate to incident response drills.
What does our ideal candidate look like?
Key Competencies and qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or proven experience in IT environment
· Experience with Process Control Systems / industrial control systems environment preferred
· Familiarity with industrial control system security standards (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443)
· Experience with configuration of servers and installation of server-based applications/databases required.
· Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security technologies. Experience with configuration of network devices required. Networking related certifications preferred.
· Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM)
· Ability to work in team-oriented collaborative environment and have a very strong customer service orientation
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects.
· Strong commitment to safety.
· Fluent in Dutch and English
