Integration Engineer

GEM One is a brand new tech company within TVH Holding that aims at developing future-proof solutions for optimal fleet performance management in multiple domains such as: track & trace, operational efficiency, security & safety and service & maintenance. We offer cloud-based solutions and the necessary hardware components to intelligently gather and enrich data of industrial equipment to streamline fleet management related processes.

Data is at the core of our business - we handle big data (and process tons of it!), mine raw data and turn it into relevante business insights that help our clients work more efficiently and safely.

After gathering this data and adding business value to it, we allow our customers to easily access it through our web application or set up integrations in order to load the data into their own platform.

Your role

You’ll be responsible for researching, designing, implementing and maintaining integrations with OEM data platforms.

You’ll learn industry standard APIs and develop reusable integrations.

You’ll interact with OEM data providers and customers to understand their requirements and come to the best integration solutions.

You’ll be responsible for managing, running and supporting the API integration layer, including the API gateway, that can be used by other development teams to expose our data and APIs to our customers.

You’ll document best practices for API design and security in close collaboration with our IoT solution architect.

Requirements

Must have

✔ Master’s degree in engineering or IT (or equivalent in experience) followed by a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience

✔ Experience with API design and API gateway solutions (apigee, kong, etc.)

✔ Focus on non-functional requirements (security, monitoring, etc.)

✔ Strong knowledge of Java (version 8 or above)

✔ Clean code and SOLID are well known to you

✔ Fluent in English

✔ A willingness to learn and to teach!

Nice to have

✔ Experience with streaming APIs and event driven architecture

✔ Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g. Python/JavaScript)

✔ Familiar with native cloud platforms and applications, preferably Google Cloud Platform

✔ Experience in IoT and/or data analytics

✔ A technical background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, bringing understanding of machine generated data
