We offer an exclusive traineeship focused on IBM Power technology, where you will have the opportunity to grow and take your (technical) skills to new heights under the guidance of experienced professionals.

IBM Power/IBM i is an extremely stable technology that has proven its added value worldwide for years. Given the strategic importance of these systems for many large companies, the demand for expertise in these technologies continues to grow. On the other hand, it provides a unique opportunity to come into contact with all the hardware layers required to provide the necessary services.

As a trainee, you will be a full member of our Managed IT Solutions (MIT) team, where you will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a supportive environment.

Specifically, thanks to this traineeship, you get the chance to interact with all layers of an IBM Power environment. Hardwareas well as software, securityas well as automation. Ranging from the IBM proprietary server hardware and associated storage & network components. The specific VIOS virtualisation layer up to system management on the IBM i operating system, with or without automation via Ansible. This both on on premises environments or within the Easi private cloud setup.

What you’ll learn and do

As a trainee Technical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build in-depth knowledge in the exciting world of IBM Power. You will be immersed in a stimulating learning environment where you will gain practical experience and participate in challenging projects.

Under the guidance of our experienced System Engineers, you will learn:

  • System Maintenance: assist in maintaining and managing IBM Power systems -and IBM i environments.
  • Automation: research and implement automation solutions to streamline system tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Private cloud: learn about our private cloud solution and the technologies deployed for it.
  • Learning and developing skills: acquire expertise in the technologies used (IBM server components, IBM i OS, VIOS, Linux, SQL...).
  • Analysing complex problems & problem-solving (hardware-, OS-, firmware- or software-related)

Profile

Must-have

  • Bachelor (or Master) degree in IT
  • Good knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Eager to learn
  • Passion for IT
  • Proactive and result-oriented mindset
  • Basic knowledge in system administration
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of Linux and SQL
  • Experience in setting up VMs
  • Knowledge/experience in Ansible
  • Knowledge/experience in mainframe and willing to go deeper into this
