Job Description

This person is performing a variety of legal activities in support of various departments at Carmeuse headquarters in Louvain-La-Neuve, all in accordance with the established standards of the legal profession, with a view to protect the Carmeuse Group’s reputation and business interests and to help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Your tasks
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (including confidentiality, consultancy, engineering, marketing, service and R&D agreements) in support of a variety of departments at the group level with a specific focus on technical/engineering, R&D and IT departments to respectively support TECforLime (our platform for lime-related services and solutions), our CO2 roadmap (to reduce Carmeuse and its customers’ environmental footprint) and our path towards a more and more secure IT environment.
  • Support the drafting and maintenance of a series of group intercompany agreements pursuant to relevant transfer pricing requirements
  • Advice on data privacy / GDPR issues that may generally arise throughout the organization
  • Handle corporate secretarial matters for the Group entities based in Benelux and France
  • Management of trademarks (filing, renewal, transfers) throughout the group (except US) and coordinate with external trademark attorney
  • If necessary, to engage external legal counsel in relation to any of the above and manage costs appropriately
  • Support other team members as required

Your profile

Education

Master in law (focus civil, commercial, IP and data privacy law)

Experience

Ideally 3-4 years experience within a law firm or in similar position within an industry

Languages

Perfectly fluent in French and English

    • Acquaintance with FIDIC contracts is a plus
