Business environment:

Plant St Truiden is producing automotive Key Components for a new state of the art Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) for Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The local production is ramping up in the next 2 years to a 3-shift production with a daily output of around 3000 sets. A large number of various components supplied by worldwide supplier base is needed to manufacture the Key Components.

The Key Components are daily delivered to a sister company in France to be assembled in the DCT, which are delivered JIT to various OEM plants across EU. The inbound and outbound, material planning and material handling is supported according to automotive standard designed SAP/ERP system including EDI.

Roles and responsibilities

  • You are in charge to oversee and to continuously improve the supply chain flow (physical and digital flow) from supplier to warehouse, from Warehouse to production lines, from production lines to shipment to customer.
  • Manage a team of material and production planners, warehousing and in/outbound team, line feeding operators.
  • Organizes monitoring and analysis of supply chain KPI, such as inventory turns, shipment and supply chain cost, back logs, service rate including continuous improvement actions.
  • Organizes a proper material reception and flow and associated bookings to allow accurate accounting and business planning.
  • Manages the escalation and corrective action processes in case of supply chain failures in order to minimize the customer impact.
  • With his team and in alignment with the production the Logistic Manager organizes the physical material flow and storage (including 5S) to optimize the supply chain cost.
  • Develops his own expertise and coaches his team to reach world class level in automotive components supply

Experiences and skills

  • Automotive business experiences (5 yrs+) in full scope supply chain environment for mass production
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team in a growing and international business
  • Technical or business education (Bachelor+) or similar by experience
  • Languages: Dutch, English, French is a plus
