In order to support our Intellectual Property team (www.unilintechnologies.com) in Waregem, we’re looking for a Market Intelligence Specialist.

Market Intelligence Specialist

FUNCTION

  • You start with an extended training on our patented and licensed flooring products. Due to these trainings you will become an expert in the full range of our licensed products. This knowledge will enable you to map worldwide all products and producers of hard floor covering. This involves studying all the different laminate and vinyl floor producers and their respective products, but also the producers of ceramics, parquet, cork and veneer floors, and their respective products. You will map not only the producers, but also the distributors. This means a lot of desk research (internet, magazines …) but also visiting fairs and doing international trips. Next to doing market research, you will also analyze if different products in the market are violating our portfolio.
  • You are willing to spend a part of your time in global travelling. You go to the different points of sales (shops, outlet stores …). You ask for samples, you buy products and you record possible irregularities by taking pictures. At the same time you check how the products are displayed and collect the relevant information about products, trends, innovations, prices and competition.
  • When you are back at the office, you execute small tests on the samples. You write reports about your visits, keep the exhibits, make overviews in excel and give product presentations, which will enable the management, the legal department and the flooring department to take the necessary actions.
  • Next to that, you bring structure in the abundance of information and you build a database to collect and link all the data you receive, both internally and externally, in order to enable the different stakeholders to make a market analysis and gain new insights. You are a business intelligence specialist who is the go-to person for all market related questions.

PROFILE

  • You have a higher degree (marketing, sales, economics,…). A first professional experience in market research is a real asset.
  • You have a good feeling with technical products.
  • You’re a networker, and you love to build and maintain relationships within the organization.
  • You work in an organized, structured way. You have very strong administration skills on the one hand and have a taste for adventure on the other hand.
  • You are of a curious, entrepreneurial and independent nature as the role will entail long periods of individual travel.
  • You have a very high level of communication skills and the ability to speak foreign languages will be highly regarded. Fluent Dutch and English is essential for this role.
