The role is created to support the AR COE team and to manage the workshop of the global Centre of Excellence in the Advanced Refractories Business Unit. The role will also cover the R&D activities of the AR COE team by supporting the supply chain, the integration and the shop tests of the robotic applications.

The main responsibilities of the R&D Lab Manager are:

• General maintenance of AR COE workshop and equipment’s
• Supply chain management and optimization for subcontracted parts and services
• Compliance sustainability of AR COE equipment’s and R&D activities according to local regulations, international standards and Vesuvius Group policies

Requirements:

• General maintenance of AR COE workshop and equipment’s including:
  • General maintenance of installed equipment’s, utilities and waste materials
  • AR COE workshop’s purchasing, invoicing, receiving, inventorying and shipping administration
  • Vesuvius Group policy management and enforcement
  • Implementation and management of the Vesuvius Group HSE procedures under the supervision of the local HSE Manager
  • Site supervision of new AR capex projects
  • Collaboration with local administrative and maintenance teams at site location
• Site assistance management of R&D activities for AR COE team including:
  • General maintenance of AR COE robotic equipment’s
  • Vendor assessment and supply chain development of subcontracted parts and services required for R&D activities
  • Coordination and follow-up of subcontracted services and assembly works in AR COE workshop
  • Workshop supervision of new robotic solution assembly in collaboration with R&D engineers
  • Shop test supervision and assistance to R&D engineer

• Min. 10 years’ experience in supervision position, with at least 5 years exposed to facility management, ideally you have already managed a workshop in a previous job
• 3- 5 years’ experience in engineering activities
• HSE standards expertise and methods
• Common EC standards and requirements
• Owner of professional certificates like forklift driving license, overhead crane, BA5... is an asset
• Relevant experience in mechatronics and/or automation is an asset
• Good experience with ERP system (SAP) is an asset
• Experience in very diverse skills (hydraulic, pneumatic, motors, valves...) gained from practical problem-solving experiences
