As Operational Excellence Manager you will be responsible to define the annual continuous improvement plant for the plant. You will coach the organization in the implementation of the plan and in the application of the lean tools.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Defining the annual plan for continuous improvement and translating these into actionable targets for cost & lead-time reduction, OEE improvement for bottleneck machines, reject & scrap reduction. You will do this in close alignment with the operations manager.
- Supporting production and maintenance managers to define the yearly action plan and the quarterly follow up. You will support them in operational problem solving and in implementing the defined way of working to continuously improve processes in general.
- Proposing effective ways of using all resources.
- Managing and coordinating the most important continuous improvement projects.
- Following up of the different actions and projects and reporting progress versus the plan in a structured way.
- On the job coaching of operations, production and maintenance managers in leading change.
- Supporting training programs on change management skills together with HR.
- Translating the way-of-working into practical instructions and action plans for the plant.
- Managing the implementation of new continuous improvement tools and techniques in a structured way in cooperation with the production department.
- Ensuring consistency in the use of the tools and techniques across different departments and aligned with regional / global standards.
- Developing training programs in lean tools for operator, supervisors and managers together with HR.
- Liaising with the central and regional manufacturing excellence team.
Qualification
Your knowledge, skills and experience
- A master degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Engineering or Psychology with a first experience in managing change processes in a production environment
- 5-10 years of experience in a production environment.
- knowledge about continuous improvement techniques, lean six sigma, this is clearly an asset.
- You are a real people manager and can easily interact with all levels of the organization.
- You get energy by mobilizing people and creating commitment for change.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and like to work independently.
- You have strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
