We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Trainer to join our HQ team in Leuven!

The Technical Trainer ensures engaging and innovating technical training. He/she is responsible for the development of the new and existing staff, customers and agents in close cooperation with the other members of the training team. The trainer is responsible for the training area and their content on the Learning Management System.

Organizing and planning remote sessions and classroom sessions in cooperation with his/her colleagues, the trainer is responsible for acquiring the technical knowledge to become a subject matter expert and acts as an ambassador for TOMRA.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design engaging technical training to meet the needs of the company.
• Train customers, agents & TOMRA employees using different methodologies (remote video, classroom, LMS).
• Ensure the necessary documentation and didactic material to support the training sessions.
• Provide technical training, in-house and at the customer premises.
• Constantly evolve the quality of the training and correct if necessary.
• Evaluate the participants and keep their supervisor posted about their training level.
• Investigate and test new training tools, methods and technologies.
• Report and analyse training results.
• Remain on top of your knowledge by continually remaining a player in technical production and/or services.
• Create content for and administer the learning management systems.

Candidate profile

You are creative and a good presenter and meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical expertise or relevant experience in training or maintaining technical equipment.
• Proven experience as a trainer in a technical area, preferably in a B2B environment.
• Business-fluent in English to perform the job in a multinational setting. Fluency in Dutch and other European languages is a strong asset.
• Strong passion for education.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Strong in absorbing new technical knowledge and transferring this into an easy to understand training.
• You are a good teacher and coach who gives the necessary support and offers open and honest feedback to stimulate an open communication.
• You are result-driven, through planning and with strong organisational skills.
• You don’t hesitate to take the initiative and are pro-active.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• You have a valid driver’s license.

• You can adapt your communication style to the audience.

• You are flexible and capable to travel globally (40-50 days/year).

• Knowledge of administering digital learning platforms.
