Are you ready to take on a key role in the link between the development and production of gelatine and collagen?

For our Science & Innovation team in Ghent we are looking for a temporary

Pilot Plant Engineer

Your responsibilities:

  • In the pilot plant you schedule, coordinate and perform trials and experiments in accordance with strategic objective of the Science and Innovation direction
  • You are responsible for writing the trial reports (in English), review reports of performed experiments and present new business cases/opportunities to different stakeholders
  • You manage the daily activities including weekly schedule stock management, maintenance intervention.
  • You work in close collaboration with the process development managers to optimize the workload in the pilot plant and resource requirement
  • You use appropriate project management tool to follow up on the projects
  • You initiate new continuous improvement ideas to the pilot hall (safety, quality, performance)
  • You are a trust person for the team and identify their needs to ensure development on all levels enabling their growth
  • Support in start-up of new installation, new process
  • The job is a combination of approximately 70% on the field and 30% administration.
  • You report directly to het Pilot Plant Manager

Your profile/skills:

  • You combine a masterin science, process engineering, industrial engineering, food technology or related with 5-10 years work experience
  • Experienced in project management
  • You naturally take on a leader role in a team
  • With your hands-on work mentality, coordinating skills and solid perseverance you bring the broad range of projects to a successful conclusion.
  • You have great communication skills and are fluent in English and Dutch (oral and written). A good understanding of French is a plus
  • You have a scientific curiosity and are eager to learn and willing to develop yourself within the organization
  • You are willing to travel occasionally to the different Rousselot manufacturing sites, CMO and technology suppliers
