Job Description

Within our Innovation and Development team, we are currently looking for a key player who will be in charge of studying, designing and implementing new technical solutions for the production of lime and associated products. In particular, he/she will be involved in technical developments aiming to reduce the company CO2 footprint.

Your challenge

Responsible for
  • Process and Project Engineering
    • Look for best technical solution(s) to improve lime kiln processes and CO2 emissions in particular
    • Work in close collaboration with R&D team
    • Provide process engineering design input to the project during the pre-study & study phases to assure it meets Carmeuse’s technical, financial, safety & environmental objectives
    • Manage small or medium size projects, where a global project manager is not needed
    • Secure IP with the support of R&D team
    • Provide on-site support during commissioning and start-up of operations including process analysis and troubleshooting
  • Technical watch & knowledge transfer
    • Realize a regular technical watch to stay aware of new technical developments in the lime industry
    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments & practices in process engineering
    • Actively contribute to the process engineering community of practices
    • Actively contribute to the “Group Engineers Training Program” by developing & delivering training contents
The ideal candidate

Education
  • University degree: Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Chemical, …)

Experience
  • 3-5 years in industrial process or R&D, ideally from similar industry (Gas processing, Cement, Glass, Steel)

Soft Skills
  • Strong complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields (engineers or business audience)
  • Autonomous, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Detailed oriented
  • Driving for Results and ability to prioritize to meet deadline
  • Team work, collaborative and influencing skills
  • Coaching attitude
  • Open to other cultures and ready to work in an international environment

Needed Skills
  • Strong skills in:
    • Industrial process optimization
    • CO2 and other gases treatment
    • Lime and lime related application is a plus
    • Data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI)
  • Professional & Technical Expertise linked with a 3-5 year experience in Industrial Processes and an Engineer education level
    • Energy, heat and mass balances, combustion, fluid mechanics, emissions, chemical process
    • CO2/combustion gases Purification
  • Computer Skills (MS office tools, AutoCAD basics, Visio, …)
  • Fluent in English (min level B2)
  • Open to travel (20%)
