We are Australia’s largest standalone independent private hospital and are recognised nationally as a centre of excellence. St Andrew’s is a 240-bed facility with eleven state of the art operating theatre suites and we cater for most surgical specialties including, but not limited to, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, urology, colorectal, orthopaedics, breast and gynaecology and the busiest (da Vinci) Robotics unit in Australia.

Our 4th Floor is a busy 50 bed surgical ward. Specialties include Neurosurgery, Ear-Nose and Throat, Spinal, Orthopaedics and Vascular.

About You

We are seeking applications from Registered Nurses with at least 3 years’ experience in and acute setting on surgical wards for night duty. You will have responsibility for the nursing plan of care, making patient care decisions and helping to solve nursing and nursing service problems.

In Addition You Will Need To Demonstrate
  • a commitment to delivering best practice patient care
  • well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • commitment to your continued professional development
  • an interest in mentoring and educating our up-and-coming nursing students and graduates
  • the ability to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • significant experience in a similar fast-paced environment
  • current registration with AHPRA and the ability to legally live and work in Australia.
Experience in orthopaedics nursing will be highly regarded.

Hours

This a permanent part-time position of 68 hours a fortnight working night shifts rostered flexibly across a 14 day roster. Work hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
