Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Product Stewardship Manager, the Senior Product Steward will ensure the business complies with regulatory, hazard communication, customer, and company requirements. They will assess compliance with European regulations applicable to Ascend’s global product portfolio. They will provide the regulatory interpretation and assessment for Ascend Performance Materials. Collaborate with supply chain, technology, and commercial departments for Ascend Performance Materials

- ESSH excellence in the development, production, marketing, and the overall life cycle of Ascend Performance Materials growing and global portfolio of products.
- Supporting internal process improvements and integration.
Responsibilities
- Assess regulatory compliance for Ascend Performance Materials commercial and R&D products in Europe.
- Ensure conformance of Ascend products to global requirements.
- Monitor and adapt to changing regulatory requirements and proactively communicate to the Product Stewardship manager
- Communicate with internal technical experts and H&S resources to ensure accuracy and quality
- Address customer ESSH concerns and questions regarding our raw materials, products and manufacturing facilities.
- Monitor and maintain software applications (i.e. Sphera and IUCLID), files, and metadata to ensure consistency and accurate document control.
Required Experience
- BS or higher in Chemistry or related sciences
- 7+ years’ of Product Stewardship experience in the chemical industry
- Knowledge of EU REACH, Turkey REACH, UK REACH, CLP, and GHS regulatory schemes
- Understanding of basic concepts/principles of toxicology
- Experience in interfacing with regulatory agencies and legal, evaluating, and complying with regulatory requirements

- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
- Highly organized and significant attention to detail.
- Self-motivated individual with the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations and standards.
- Solid working knowledge of chemical product stewardship principles.
- Experience in providing sound, strategic business advice, solving complex problems and making tough decisions.
- Ability to work across multiple functional groups internally and externally i.e. commercial, technology, operations, ESSH, customers, regulatory agencies, and consulting groups.
