Job Purpose and Impact

The Engineer Lead will be the strategic leader to independently lead the engineering capability and build a strong team to provide services across our portfolios within the organization. In this role, you will conduct strategic engineering oversight, design, development, quality assurance, configuration, deployment and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely engineering minimums are upheld by product teams within the platforms.

Key Accountabilities
  • Collaborate and consult with others on engineering capabilities and platforms, including architecture, design, development, deployment management, testing and support.
  • Guides execution of technical innovation/transformation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead the implementation of modern engineering practices to ensure product quality.
  • Lead the engineering team in writing well designed, testable, secure and efficient code.
  • Provide direction or lead the strategy and technical planning of the engineering capability.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience.
  • Experience with the Agile mindset and framework.
  • Varying depths of experience in programming languages, design patterns and tools including: Java, Java Spring, Python Flask/Django, API, Microservices and Full stack, Hive, Impala, GitHub, Dockers&Containers, Drone, MySQL, Postgres.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in anticipating emerging issues, perform analysis, problem solving and implementing new business solutions across process, data and technology.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Change Management efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience implementing modern engineering practices to ensure product quality.
  • Experience with: AngularJS, ReactJS, VueJS; AWS, Azure, Google, VMWare, OpenStack; Kubernetes.
