Title: Asset Support & Technical Service Engineer Polypropylene.

Location: Flexible to other European locations where Ineos has a site.

Context:

INEOS Polymers Engineering and Technology Support (POETS) is providing technical expertise and services to INEOS assets and INEOS Polyolefin Catalyst Business (POCat). The Technical Service (TS) group is dedicated to provide service to the POCat business, a global business supplying catalysts and technology to third party and internal INEOS operating plants in more than 22 countries. This is an opportunity to join our team of international INEOS’s leading engineers focused on project support, process engineering, operational and commissioning support primarily to Polyolefins producers.

Scope:

The focus of the work for this role will, depending on projects or customer demand, overlap between the ASG and TS activities. The ASG/TS engineer will provide office as well as on-site support.

The candidates will have a chemical engineering degree, with preferably a successful first experience in the Polyolefins industry (design, plant support, manufacturing).

The candidates must be prepared to travel both for short periods (1 week) and occasionally also longer periods (2-3, up to 4 weeks) to INEOS O&P and to other assets worldwide.

Required Level of education & Experience in general

✓ A chemical engineering degree, preferably 3 to 8 year experience in operations, design, asset support, process development and/or technical services

✓ Strong engineering mind set

✓ Troubleshooting; capability to improve operations & related issues

✓ Polyolefins background required

✓ Experience in PP or PE plant

✓ Experience of running Innovene™ Polyolefins technology or similar is a plus

✓ Fluent in English. Additional knowledge of either French or Dutch is a plus. Technical and Behavioural skills

✓ Broad knowledge of chemical process engineering and/or operations

✓ Ability to lead technical projects with an analytical and pragmatic approach

✓ Good ownership of problems and results oriented (finding solutions)

✓ Culturally aware and able to work well with multinational teams

✓ Willing to travel

✓ Excellent interpersonal skills and networking ability to manage customer technical relationships in different areas of the world (commercial awareness)

✓ Well organized with ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and deliver projects on time

✓ Being flexible to meet changing client schedules and demands

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

✓ SHE is always the first priority. Lead SHE by example. Ensure self & team work practices are at all times safe and ethical and in line with INEOS Group guidelines. Adhere to travel safety guidelines.

✓ Contribute to safe operation at INEOS and client sites. All job activities should be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the INEOS 20 Principles.

✓ Participate in plant safety audits, HSE process reviews and LOPA analysis.

✓ Sustainability: sustainability objectives are included in all tasks – actively participate and propose ideas to reduce energy consumption, environment emissions and CO2 footprint.

✓ Remote support of assets via plant data mining, analysis, modelling; identify & propose plants improvements, ensure best practices are shared and implemented.

✓ Participate in design studies (plant conversions, debottlenecks, more complex plant investments) to maintain Innovene™ PP as a cutting edge technology for PP.

✓ In time, become a technical expert for the Innovene™ PP technology.

✓ Depending on work load, extend your support to other polymer technologies operated by INEOS (Innovene™ S – Innovene™ G – LDPE - …)

✓ Work with plant engineers and operations teams of assets to improve plant operations. ✓ Work with other specialists within Asset Support group such as Advance Process Control, Control, rotating equipment and Mechanical.

✓ Provide technical support and build relationship through successful problem solving skills.

✓ Support/lead industrial trials and follow-up experimental campaigns at pilot scale.

✓ Deliver technical services to new and existing clients, INEOS assets or INEOS Polyolefin Catalyst client sites (including ongoing support, troubleshooting, plant optimization, new catalyst demonstrations and catalyst trial support, technology upgrades, quality improvement, etc.) within the overall strategy developed for each customer and in support of ongoing catalyst sales.

✓ Ensure client satisfaction and create winning relationships with customers, developing the required relationship networks (internal/external).

✓ Deliver training sessions and related documentation to manufacturing staff. Skills & Knowledge
