Within our Business Unit Cinema we bring the experience of Movie Goers to the next level. We develop world leading laser based projectors, including state of the art media servers.

Product development is thriving in Barco, so we are looking to expand our R&D team in Kortrijk with an experienced Technical Writer.

You are responsible for the technical documentation of our projectors, associated application software and other end products such as ClickShare, LED,....

Your big challenge is to collect technical information, and then to formulate it fluently, correctly and in understandable language. You create different types of documentation (user and service manuals, ...) which must be both accurate and user-friendly.

For these tasks you work closely with the R&D engineers, product managers and NPI managers.

Your Responsibilities
  • You collect technical information from your R&D colleagues and attend kick-off meetings.
  • You are responsible for the graphic part: you edit images from the CAD system Creo using Illustrator, Photoshop, ... .
  • You translate all this information accurately and comprehensibly into different types of documentation (user, safety, service manuals…). All documentation is written in English.
  • You actively search for all this information and because of this you are in contact with R&D engineers, product managers, NPI managers, product validation group,...

Your profile
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical direction and you have a lot of interest in technology and a passion for writing!
  • You can easily work with 3D drawing programs (Creo) and the Adobe package (mainly Illustrator, photoshop, adobe acrobat, ...).
  • You have a good knowledge of MS office tools (Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Knowledge of XML tools and Arbortext is a plus.
  • You communicate fluently (oral and written) in Dutch and English.
