We’re looking for an experienced War underwriter to join our Marine team in Antwerp.

As an insurance firm we simply couldn’t function without our highly valued underwriters.

Through your in-depth knowledge of specific client portfolios and relevant market activity within the War Product, you will take responsibility for maintaining and building new business which profitably grows the Class. As part of MS Amlin Marine NV there will be regular interaction across all European locations.

About The Job

What you’ll spend your time doing:
Here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:

• Undertake sound market analysis and target potential new clients, brokers and products
• Effectively represent self and class in external activities, groups and committees
• Manage the location/market so that is complies with relevant risk, regulatory and legal requirements and so that it complies with Group policies.
• Ensuring risks are written within the agreed parameters – making sound, profitable long term decisions on risks that are written with a focus on smart rationale underwriting.

What you’ll need:

For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:

• Experience and proven track record in war, marine or property underwriting (from broker or corporate side)
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent English plus one additional language (French or Dutch)
• Higher education (Bsc/Msc) preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.
