Your challenges

As a purchasing officer you’re responsible for the complete transactional ordering process on indirect materials and services for our Belgian plants with a strong “solution orientated” emphasis. This includes purchase order creation, order follow up till delivery, invoice control, claim handling…
You support the Purchase Manager with a number of defined product categories by monitoring supplier’s performance whilst defining further improvements. You will carry sourcing responsibility for some projects in alignment with the Purchase Manager
You create and maintain alignment with the suppliers and are actively involved in negotiations.
You establish a strong communication platform with internal customers, being their main point of contact. You manage their purchase requisitions and coordinate these externally.
You lead further process improvements and simplification initiatives towards efficiency.
You report to the Purchase Manager.

Your talents

You have demonstrated experience in the field of operational purchasing, supply chain, planning or customer service
You have the ability to efficiently implement defined actions and to introduce process changes wherever applicable
You have an analytical mindset and strong administrative skills
You are a strong communicator with high integrity and a “critical eye”
You have a desire to drive personal growth
You are positive, spontaneous person who enjoys being part of a team
You have excellent knowledge of Excel and proven experience with ERP packages, ideally SAP
You communicate fluently in English and Dutch, knowledge French is a plus
