To strengthen its Quality department, John Cokerill Energy Solutions is searching for an experienced Quality Engineer (M/F/X). The position is based in the Head Office of Seraing (Belgium).

YOUR MISSION

Be responsible for the quality of the products purchased for the project he/she is in charge.

Be responsible of the review of the quality documentation of the purchased products.

You are under the hierarchical responsibility of the Quality Manager and the functional responsibility of the Project Manager with the following objectives :

• Customer satisfaction,
• Conformance to applicable codes and norms, directives, contractual scope of supply, Customer’s technical specifications, internal standards and local regulations, in regard to the quality of the equipment and the fabrication
• Quality, conformity, and completeness of the quality documentation,
• Respect of timely quality documentation issuance and review of delivery schedules.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Be a key representative of the project team, and also of the Customers and Suppliers, for all topics related to project quality aspect.
• Assure the completeness and compliance to the contract of the quality documentation, from the award of an order to the provisional acceptance of the equipment.
• Be responsible to issue the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) of the project and to follow up the quality documentation of the Suppliers taking an important part in the Supply Chain Process as defined in the QMS (Quality Management System).
• Verify that all required tests have been performed as per the Standards and the contract. As per the hold and witness points of the ITP, he/she could possibly assist to the inspections and tests (pressure, functional and performance tests) at the Suppliers’ facility.
• Review and comment all the quality documentation of all purchased commodities.
• Issue the quality release for each equipment when the required quality level demanded by the project is met.

The Quality Engineer has a generalist profile. You must be available for temporary missions, sometimes on short notice, including international travel.

• Analysis of contractual requirements in regards with internal standards (mainly ASME, EN and ISO codes)
• Understanding of international codes and norms
• Understanding of international regulations for John Cockerill’s products (mainly European Pressure Equipment Directive and ASME)
• Knowledge on steel material properties
• Knowledge of welding processes
• Knowledge of NDT (Non Destructive Testing)
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, listening)
• Fluent in French is a plus
