As an R&D Engineer you will explore the boundless possibilities at the intersection of technology and telecommunications. At Citymesh, we are actively shaping the technological landscape for various business and research domains. Our focus extends beyond connectivity and includes, but is not limited to advancing network intelligence of 5G and possible 6G Networks, exploring Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) / Drones for Offshore Operations, evaluation of network programming to enhance network programmability etc.

Hence, the person we seek is interested in many new domains and willing to express his creativity using telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities

Embark on journeys as you actively engage in national, international, and internal projects centred around cutting-edge topics! Your responsibilities will involve attending dynamic meetings and immersing yourself in the hands-on excitement of software implementation, configuration of setups, and the challenging process of validating these setups in the field (or even at sea!). Join us on the front lines of innovation, where every project is a thrilling adventure waiting to unfold!

Your secondary responsibilities will be crucial to the future of Citymesh’s technology roadmap:

• Crafting Actionable Recommendations: Engage your creativity to develop recommendations grounded in research findings, propelling product development, driving ingenious marketing strategies, and steering our business towards unprecedented expansion.
• Market Exploration Extravaganza: Embark on an exciting journey of comprehensive market analysis, uncovering emerging trends, navigating competitive landscapes, and revealing thrilling growth opportunities within the dynamic telecommunications industry.
• Data Alchemy: Dive into the alchemy of data, where you’ll gather and process information from diverse sources. Engage in statistical analysis and modelling, transforming raw data into valuable insights that pave the way for strategic brilliance.
• Collaboration Carnival: Join the carnival of collaboration! Work closely with cross-functional dream teams, including product development, marketing, and engineering, ensuring that your research insights become integral to the fabric of decision-making processes.
• Telecom Trendspotting: Stay on the cutting edge! Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest telecommunications technologies, standards, and protocols. Become a trendspotter, evaluating their potential impact on our products and services, and infusing your insights into the heartbeat of our innovation.

Job requirements

Must-Have Qualities & Talents

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in programming languages (Object Oriented, Functional …)
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, wireless protocols, and a basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and threats
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and a methodical approach to tasks
• Commitment to ethical behaviour, as this role involves monitoring network activity and data
