For our office in Grace-Hollogne (Liège), Belgium, we are looking for:
R&D Mechatronics Engineer, Fulltime
The R&D Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for the control electronics of RRSL products, in the field of kinetic energy storage and power generation. She/He drives projects from design specification to prototyping and validation. She/He is the owner of PCB designs, software and documentation.
The R&D Mechatronics Engineer is also responsible for the testing and validation of RRSL products, acting in a wide variety of fields: mechanical, thermal, electrotechnics, electronics, controls, etc.
She/He contributes actively to new product invention, shaping the next generation kinetic energy storage systems for dynamic UPS applications and transition to Net-Zero, and to continuous improvement of the mtu Kinetic PowerPack.
Key Responsibilities
- Define design specifications, project planning and validation plan.
- Identify solutions and make recommendations in line with the technical objectives (performance, safety, compliance with applicable standards, cost).
- Design control electronics, write firmware, execute validation plan.
- Assure proper product documentation and certification.
- Actively contribute to product safety management.
- Assist Operations and Quality Department for the procurement of parts.
- Report project progress to RRPS group’s Electronics Department.
- Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant engineering branch
- Relevant work experience (min. 5 years)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Curious and eager to learn
- Fluent in English; French or German are assets
