Degroof Petercam Family Office is a multidisciplinary, highly versatile, and international team based in Luxembourg and Belgium. Our new motivated colleague will be exposed to the full range of services that ultra-wealthy clients require, based on our two-pillar offering of (1) outsourced chief investment officer and (2) family governance services


Clients of the Family Office have an average wealth of €100M, so we work with a highly exclusive clientele who expect the highest standards of quality. Due to the size of the clients’ portfolios, the number of clients is limited, and we are able to serve our clients in a tailor-made fashion. This opens the door for entrepreneurial individuals to be creative and to create additional value adding services for our clients


Our clients have/can have assets at Degroof Petercam, but also elsewhere. The family office does not manage these assets itself but takes a leading and coordinating role towards a client’s partners who work at multiple institutions. DP Family Office is a Chief Investment Officer who leads a team of portfolio managers, investment managers and advisors that surround a wealthy family

Context

As a Senior Family & Investment Director, you will be exposed to a large array of asset classes typically only reserved for the ultra-affluent, such as private equity, private debt, hedge funds, real estate and direct company participations, besides the traditional asset array of mutual funds, stocks and bonds

Missions and responsibilities

  • You manage the business development and relationship with clients as well as with the multi-counterparty team that surrounds each wealthy family (bankers, investment advisors, lawyers …):
  • You contribute to the production of the various deliverables for our clients such as consolidated reports, asset allocation exercises, analyses of portfolios and investment opportunities, private equity portfolio analyses, family charters etc.
  • You research and keep your colleagues informed about various financial-technical, estate planning/structuring and family governance topics

Profile


  • You hold a master’s degree in finance, economics, law, engineering, or related field. Any additional professional accreditation or the willingness to attain one is a plus: CFA, CAIA, CQF, FRM …
  • You have at least 12 years of professional experience in sales and/or technical financial role in a family office, in wealth/asset/investment management or in a private bank
  • You have a strong knowledge of investment technical concepts and practicalities in both traditional (asset allocation, equities, bonds, gold …) and alternative assets (private equity, private debt, hedge funds, real estate …)
  • You have been exposed to law, tax and structuring options in various European jurisdictions
  • You are known for your interpersonal & relationship building skills and you act as a team player with a result-oriented mindset
  • You demonstrate an entrepreneurial and hands-on attitude
  • You are a seasoned user of various financial tools such as Bloomberg, Morningstar and Preqin. Any coding experience in Python, VBA or Matlab is also an advantage
  • You have a very good command of PowerPoint and Excel
  • You are fluent in French and in English, any other language is a plus (Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian …)
  • You are willing to travel regularly
