Job Purpose

The role of the Market Insights and SFE Manager is to support the Head of Commercial Excellence in driving Business Excellence and act as a partner for senior management, as well as Sales & Marketing stakeholders to continuously monitor performance and deliver improvements in Sales Force Effectiveness, Business Insights and Competitive Intelligence.

You will be expected to:
  • Lead management of Sales Force Effectiveness and monitoring of all In Field activities
  • Provide Market Insights (BI and CI) and continuously monitor Business Performance
  • Act as a project manager for (local/regional) initiatives related to Commercial Excellence
(incl. transition towards an omnichannel go-to-market model)
  • Drive and support Novarts/Sandoz culture (self-awareness, curious, inspired, unboss)
Major Accountabilities
  • Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE)
  • Responsible for SFE strategy / framework of qualitative and quantitative KPIs, in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Ensure proper ecosystem (design, implementation, maintenance, improvement & adoption) of standardized SFE systems and tools, tailored to different user profiles & needs
  • Act as business partner by providing regular feedback and recommendations to relevant business stakeholders to ensure continuous efficiency improvement
  • Identify opportunities for optimized resource allocation and support re-alignment (segmentation & targeting, territory redesign, customer engagement planning, etc.)
  • Ensure execution of optimization of resources (e.g. field force setup) via CRM system
  • Upgrade and monitor FF incentive schemes, aligned with BU strategies
  • Own the Target setting process for the FF, in close collaboration with the BU Heads
  • Drive transition of go-to-market model from traditional rep-only to omnichannel
  • Market Insights and Business Planning
  • Analyze market, competition, and customers data (e.g. IQVIA/IMS), as well as performance / activity data on a continuous basis and provide insights, acting as a sparring partner towards the commercial teams and senior management
  • Drive market & customer intelligence around key strategic franchises and provide support for the planning process and its execution (monthly business reviews, yearly target setting, etc.)
  • Responsible for design, execution, maintenance, improvement, and adoption of entire Sandoz Belgium business intelligence ecosystem (based on QlikSense & Alteryx), used by Sales, Marketing, Portfolio & Finance to make strategic choices, define tactics and track performance
  • Ad hoc analyses for management or business stakeholders.
  • Support business stakeholders in periodical/regional reporting and business review meetings
  • Monitor, in close collaboration with Finance Department, levels of Stock in Trade and identify potential outliers
  • Project Management
  • Lead projects within scope of commercial excellence and / or to explore future business opportunities (e.g. optimal omnichannel go-to-market approach, new market assessment, business cases, opportunities for efficiency improvement, SFE process redesign, etc.)
  • Drive relevant collaboration and best practice sharing within local organization, across Novartis divisions and with other countries (region / global)

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor / Master degree – preferably in Business Administration, Economics, or Applied Sciences

Fluent in English (strong knowledge of Dutch and French)

Relevant experience of 3 to 5 years in SFE or business/sales analytics, preferably in an international pharma company

 Strong strategic and commercial mindset

 Excellent logical, analytical & communication capabilities

 Strong business partnering and project management skills

 Autonomous worker with high accountability & pragmatism
