Short description:

Hexagon is looking for a Solution Engineer to reinforce its Materials/ICME advanced consulting and incubation team.

This is a multi-disciplinary team of engineers helping our customers successfully characterize their materials, manage their data, design their parts and assess the effects of manufacturing processing. You will work on a wide range of materials (plastics, CFRPs, additives, foams, CMCs…) and performances (static, crash, creep, fatigue, NVH…), for various industries: auto, aero, E&E, energy…

You will be based in Hexagon’s Luxembourg office. Office locations in Belgium (e.g. Mont-Saint-Guibert) and France (e.g. Saint-Fons) may be considered. We offer hybrid working arrangements.

In this role you will analyze customer needs, identify and present how our composite modeling technology can address them, apply or develop the adequate modeling strategy, promote the Digimat technology wherever applicable, participate in incubation projects and contribute to the innovation and success of the business unit.

Tasks in detail:

  • Elaborate and coordinate test campaigns, analyze test data and calibrate material models.
  • Participate to AI/ML projects around data enrichment and innovation in the field of Materials & ICME.
  • Elaborate new modeling methods (e.g. additive manufacturing, SMCs).
  • Carry out innovative virtual testing studies.
  • Carry out structural design CAE studies, assist customers designing and validating plastic/additive parts.
  • Manage projects’ schedule, communication and reporting with customers and partners.

Requirements:

  • Material or Mechanical Engineering degree, or higher degree.
  • Strong background on plastics &/or composite materials, ideally familiar with material modelling.
  • Knowledge of finite elements, experienced with preparing and solving nonlinear FEA.
  • Ideally, 2-3 years of work experience, or PhD. in a field relevant to this vacancy
  • Think out-of-the-box attitude, smart & agile, ability to bounce back and be force of proposition.
  • Profile attracted by innovation and an environment to solve challenges daily.
  • Strong communication skills in English. French and/or German is a plus.
