As a Store Manager you are fully accountable for achieving store targets, managing store resource and providing total customer satisfaction to meet the needs of the customers according to New Balance standards. As a brand ambassador, you will drive team performance and create a working culture that embraces New Balance values in a fast paced and energetic environment.
Responsibilities:

Sales

  • Achieve targets and drive productivity, utilising all reports available ensuring KPI success
  • Drive profitability of the store through P&L analysis
  • Execute the Independence Service Model
  • Execute sale periods and campaign changes ensuring they are managed efficiently
  • Feedback on the local market, competition and customer feedback ensuring this information reaches your Line Manager
  • Forward planning and creating action plans to minimise impact and maximise opportunities

Operations

  • Lead by example using the 80/20 rule - 80% of time spent on shop floor and 20% of time spent in back of house
  • Ensure the store adheres to the Retail Game Plan operating procedures and daily and weekly routines
  • Manage the store commercially including visual merchandising, replenishment, instore communication and window features
  • Accountable for daily reconciliation and all financial transactions, ensuring adherence to all reporting procedures
  • Accountable for store stock take results and ensuring targets are met
  • Manage and process deliveries in line with company expectations
  • Adherence to back of house operations according to company guidelines
  • Accountable for maintaining health, safety and environmental standards in store
  • Proactively ensure all systems are used effectively ensuring information is kept up to date, for example, Raymark and Workday
  • Proactive approach to external stakeholder management and maximise all available resources and opportunities.
  • To have positive working relationships with internal New Balance support functions
  • Share best practice with the EMEA Retail Team
  • Protect the New Balance brand and assets at all times

Team Management

  • Accountable for managing the in store team to ensure the correct structure and clear succession plans are in place
  • Create a high performance culture in store through role modelling, motivation, coaching and training with your team
  • Proactively manage in store HR operations – recruitment and selection, employee relations, holidays, absence, performance management, onboarding
  • Proactively manage Payroll operations
  • Proactively engaged in your own learning e.g. product knowledge, product fit

Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ Retail management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets/budgets
  • Proven people management and leadership shills
  • Experience in coaching, driving and developing a team
  • Stock management experience
  • Proven merchandising skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fluent in English
  • Interest in Fashion and/or sport desirable
  • Knowledge of the retail market/consumer trends
  • Experienced in working in a stand-alone role – autonomous and comfortable being remotely managed
  • Team player
  • Flexible work schedule includes weekends and holidays
