Context of the mission / Objective(s) of the job

We are in search of a committed and meticulous System Engineer to be a part of our Technology Department System Engineer team, composed of around ten members, in Brussels, Belgium. The optimal candidate will demonstrate a profound understanding and practical experience with Windows Server technologies, ranging from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2022, combined with robust skills in PowerShell, Active Directory, and scripting. The primary responsibilities will involve Windows system management, first-class user support, and security, but familiarity with other System Engineer domains will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain and enhance the Windows Server environment to ensure high performance and robustness of our infrastructure.
• Implement effective system monitoring and capacity management processes, utilizing PowerShell and scripting for task automation and efficiency improvement.
• Manage Active Directory (AD and ADFS), Group Policies, and other Windows-based services.
• Offer necessary support during incidents, analysing and resolving complex technical issues as a 3rd level support resource.
• Supervise the tracking and maintenance of operational solutions, creating and maintaining detailed documentation and procedures, and proficiently communicating them to other departments members.
• Remain updated with technical advancements in the Windows domain and play an active role in the introduction and application of new technologies.
• Continuously evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of the implemented security measures, recommending and integrating improvements as required.

Skills:

• A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Proven expertise in Windows Server management, including a deep familiarity with Windows Server 2003 up to Windows Server 2022.
• Perfect proficiency in PowerShell scripting, other scripting system are a strong asset, task automation, and other similar technologies.
• Proficiency in handling and configuring Windows Server roles and features, aiding in secure and efficient system communication.
• Proven experience in providing first-class user support, with a focus on delivering robust and comprehensive solutions.
• Strong understanding of IT security best practices, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in integrating on-premise systems with hybrid cloud environments.
• The successful candidate will apply their profound knowledge of Windows Server technologies, PowerShell scripting, and IT security to strengthen our infrastructure.
