The 2030 RISE Strategy has set-out an ambitious growth trajectory for Umicore with a goal to exponentially size our Umicore headcount to enable our 2030 strategy. Doubling headcount in an efficient, effective & engaging way; producing more of the right talent faster is a key enabler of the strategy. The strategic focus of the TM&D Manager PMR is all about Talent Management processes and delivery in all forms & practices (e.g. learning, talent reviews, performance management, session facilitation,….) which are key to detecting & build the talent needed.
What You Will Be Doing
The purpose of the Talent Management & Development Manager is to identify, develop, implement, translate, and drive business-aligned Talent Management & Development initiatives and policies/processes in guidance of the Head of HR PMR, BRS and Belgium and Center COE. You act as a project manager; you are agile and digitally savvy and data obsessed. As an innovative thinker, you understand business needs. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, you have analytical and decision-making skills. You are a reliable partner, well organized, understand prioritization, are entrepreneurial and goal-oriented.
You will be based in our office inAntwerp-Hoboken.
Your Responsibilities
Develop & deploy process, programs, and policies
- Define & activate the BU Talent Management & Development CoE programs in alignment with CoE overall strategy and Business strategy
- Drive the development and activation of Talent Management & Development programs, policies, and procedures in the given BU CoE and ensure continuous improvement
- Act as project leader and implementor related to own BU CoE initiatives and development efforts in addition to the Center CoE ones.
- Lead development and actioning of change and communication plans related to programs in the Talent Management and Learning & Innovation CoE
- Roll-out of BU specific actions (e.g., learning initiatives, talent talks, PDP development support, employer branding, campus activation); including active facilitation of sessions and actions. Hands-on delivery; capturing and anchoring Umicore knowledge; in close partnership with the Center CoE & Head of HR.
- Prepare proactive data analytics and metrics related to programs in the Talent Management & Development CoE and continually monitor said metrics
- Measure/ Monitor success of Talent Management & Development programs and recommend improvements to leadership
- Translate the overall Talent Management & Development strategy into BU specific approaches
- Partner with representatives from across the organization, including heads of HR / business partners, and other CoEs in the development, translation and assessment of programs related to the Talent Management & Development CoE as well safeguard the consistent delivery of CoE programs
- Work across CoEs to ensure alignment of HR programs, policies, and procedures
- Monitor work completed by external/ third party providers and assist in developing contracts, statements of work, etc.
- Collaborate as a flexible allocated resource in a flex-pool project by providing specific knowledge and input into the project delivery
- Proactively provide deep functional Talent Management & Development expertise, advice, and provide strategic guidance to heads of HR /business partners/and HR Service Delivery
- Use benchmarking to create and share leading practices
- Leverage expertise in the industry and external market research to ensure that HR solutions incorporate industry best practices, fit-for-purpose technology, and enable the employees
- Respond to escalated inquiries from employees requiring deep Talent Management & Development expertise
- You hold a Master’s degree in HR, Psychology, Economics or equivalent through experience in HR
- You are fluent in Dutch and English (spoken & written) this is a must
- Expertise and experience of minimum 3 - 5 years should encompass all functional areas in scope of the CoE Talent Management & Development special role
- Demonstrate strong Talent Management & Development and Learning & Innovation acumen and you can tie solutions to business outcomes, and overall employee performance
- Demonstrate a research-minded approach and solid general consulting skills
- Relentlessly explores opportunities, tackle problems, and discover and implement new ways of working to create more data to guide accurate decision-making
- Operate with the complete story in mind and ability to understand and plan for interconnections with other CoE HR functional areas
- Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to effectively partner with business and HR stakeholders
- Strong data analysis skills to drive key insights
- Influence decisions to produce positive business outcomes
- Maintain a strong external network providing access to best practices and innovation
- Implement and measure a metrics-based approach
- Produce thought leadership content based on research
