Your role & work environment

You will work as a Test Engineer in the Financial Messaging area with a passion for E2E testing and a positive can-do mind-set. You are a team player working as a core member of a multidisciplinary and cross-functional squad whom primary driver is the customer perspective. Close collaboration within and across the squads and with the consumer is of utmost importance for you.

You have a broad and diverse set of competencies that allow you to analyze and test applications and/or infrastructure services in the scope of your squad.

As a Test Engineer, you contribute to accomplishing the squad’s mission. You do this by working on the customer journey from the backlog, using the Agile method end-to-end. You continuously strive to improve yourself and your colleagues

Your key responsibilities

As a Test Engineer, you control and execute the testing of applications and infrastructure services. This means you contribute to completion of activities in the backlog. The following items are vital in this:

Engineering

• Based on the latest market developments and implementations in the Business and Technology area, you propose the right test approach and execute it.
• You consult with the team about what is needed to fulfil the functional and non-functional requirements to be line customer’s requirements and IT Area’ set of guidelines.
• You have an up-to-date vision regarding IT expertise, and you also have functional knowledge of the financial messaging (SWIFT) domain and processes.
• You demonstrate deep understanding of IT concepts and have significant knowledge of the IT landscape and technologies for your domain (including SWIFT, ISO20022, MT and MX messaging).
• Experience in interfacing applications as MQ, KAFKA, XFB and S3 among other technologies is an advantage.
• You can get all typical and other backlog items (user stories) from ’to do’ to ’done’.
• You consult with the team about what is needed to fulfil the functional and non-functional requirements of the IT product to be developed.

• You use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos).

As a Test Engineer Competent in the Financial Messaging Area, you will also need:

• A Master or bachelor’s degree
• 3 + years of experience as a Test Engineer or equivalent position in setting up a test approach and executing in a continuous delivery within large multinational banks for multi-year implementations and migrations, preferably related to SWIFT messaging
• Experience in testing of message processing systems is an advantage
• Experience in interfacing applications via MQ, KAFKA, XFB and S3 among other technologies is an advantage
• You are an energetic, pro-active thinker, motivating person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team in agile environment and who can also work independently, think and act out of the box and take accountability.
• You are naturally a collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals
• You are excellent in capturing information, drive that forward and while doing so are resilient and focused

• Strong social and communication skills; you are comfortable with collaboration and reaching out across area
• Fluent in English (verbally and written)
