Within a semiconductor company, the testing of electronic chips is a critical part of the development process and represents an important cost and quality factor. On one hand, adding more tests will improved the detectability of bad chips but on the other hand increasing the test time per unit has a major impact on the cost.


The Test Methodology group within On Semi has a task to develop optimal test routines (DFT: Design For Test) that find the perfect balance between high quality and low cost (ie test time per unit). As a Test Methodology Engineer, you will hence have major impact on the successful launch of new products for the Automotive, Medical, Industrial, … markets.


A 2nd responsibility of the group is to automate and standardize our test solutions to allow worldwide efficient development of test programs. For this purpose a software tool is being developed that automatically generates test code, providing a direct source of the best DFT practices.


The job will consist out of following :

  • Performing a product test pre-study to define/recommend DFT requirements
  • Develop/Improve existing test methods and flows
  • Provide support to Test Development Engineers on test methods, flows and tools
  • Work in cross functional, global teams as consultant
  • Develop, maintain and provide support on InHouse Test Tools
  • Lead projects to a successful conclusion
Qualifications


Education

  • MS Electrical Engineer Degree

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Test/Product/Design Engineering experience
  • good knowledge and interest for electronics
  • 3 years experience in semiconductor Mixed Signal test development.
  • Test expertise related to DFT and DFM methods focused on improved Product Quality, Standardization and cost
  • good understanding of C/C++ software language
  • Able to work well in a global environment with cross functional teams
  • Excellent knowledge of English
