We are currently seeking a Top and Lean Leader to join our Gerken Site based to Verviers.

Your Mission

Takes ownership of LEAN projects across the plant, provide training and coaching to the organization by expending LEAN practices to reach both Industrial Excellence and WEP. Deliver specific Lean & Kaizen projects, managing priority between sites needs aligned with STRAP objectives.

Manage & Drive the digitization of manufacturing, purchasing & supply-chain processes, implementing automation & digital tools.

Act as project manager in case of Transfer of Production (ToP) from a plant to another, and Transfer of Technologies (ToT)

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be

Within the framework of Industrial Excellence implementation, the LEAN Engineer will
  • Participate to tender phase and provide data to allow proper quotation when required
  • Challenge design to ensure a smooth production
  • Challenge design about standardization of components
  • Propose and deploy automation and robotization of key manufacturing processes when relevant
  • Drive the digitization plan of the plant, including Labor/Tasks’ clocking, Worksheet Instructions, Data Capture, OEE, Visual Inspection, Stores & Warehouse management, Picking & Put Away processes, demand management from customers and to vendors,…
  • Be responsible for Tools, Jigs, Equipment’s for both production and testing
  • Participate in the re-layout of the plant in term of flow mapping and line balancing
  • Participate when needed to prototype realization and follow-up resulting actions
  • Be responsible for Work Instructions and Manufacturing control plans
  • Be warrant of correct industrialization of special processes
  • Be warrant of Standard cost definition and monitoring (tender, pre-design, FAI, M/B decision, Product released for production)
  • Participate to operators training LEAN
  • Communicate at all levels within Operations/Support functions to ensure consistent deployment of LEAN processes & tools in the plant and in all departments: QRQC, 5S, TPM, Kaizen, OEE, TPM, Standard work, SMED, VSM, Flow..
  • Coach and train operational teams in LEAN methodology and application where necessary, from Plant Manager to direct labor functions.
  • Plan and deploy Kaizen event across all the plant, not only production, promoting success stories to implement Lean philosophies.
  • Support the engagement of Improvement project leaders
  • Provide leadership, facilitation & coaching to operational teams to develop and implement Lean Manufacturing practices across specified manufacturing areas.
  • Hold regular training sessions on QPS tools with all functions from organisation
  • Work with Human Resources to tie QPS activities to employee development programs and new-hire orientation
  • Ensure that participant to Kaizen workshop are effectively trained in advance of the activity.
  • Maintain and update Corporate documentation across sites, ensuring communication boards
  • Work with a team of change agents, team leader and will be expected to transfer knowledge to enable sustainable improvement
  • Can be required to work to demanding timescales liaising and report to Plant Management
QCDP Performance
  • Improve the reduction of the standard time of product in order to improve efficiency and financial results
HSE Health, Safety & Environment, and working conditions
  • Ensure full respect of Health, Safety and Environment rules and regulations in the conception and modification of Process.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Ensure transparent timely communication with all member of project team and Small factory Unit, as well as with other sites and Business Unit and Corporate functional leads,
  • Inform management of priorities, identified risks in their area, propose/implement improvements in the area of safety, quality, cost reduction, delivery plan execution.

Profile Required
  • You are graduated Engineer, Master of Sciences or Business School with at least 3 years of experiences or you are an experienced technician of at least 8 years in mecanic
  • Electronic and Lean skills are a plus
  • Your english is fluent and site local language as well
  • You have a good communication and team building with a strong leadership
  • Autonomous, you are able to take decision quickly and to take in charge a few topics at the same time
  • Business and customer oriented, travels are required for this position
