Our people are our most valuable asset. To support and reinforce our Supply Chain team we are looking for a Transport Excellence Manager.

Responsibilities

As our Transport Excellence Manager you develop and deploy the strategic and tactical plan for the entire group transportation network in accordance to the strategic supply chain plan and in alignment with Group Logistics Procurement. You are also responsible for actively leading the intercompany and 3rd party transport file together with the local transport responsibles, and for drive-ing lean and smart solutions to improve the performance of the transport network, including the inbound transport flows from suppliers.

Main Tasks
  • Ensure a safe, healthy and respectful work environment, in line with organization culture
  • Strategic and operational support to the central team and local colleagues with a focus on systems and processes ensuring a standardized and centrally steered approach
  • Analyse transport requirements based on the 18 month plan / Logistics RCCP and support the local teams in operational transport capacity planning
  • Set-up tools, processes and KPI´s to standardize, measure and improve performance of the global transport network and community
  • Challenge transportation network and drive continuous improvement and optimization of the transport flows
  • Provide project support for the local teams for improving the transport performance and implementing lean and smart solutions
  • Ensure standardized carrier performance measurement and improvement is carried out throughout Europe
  • Support the local transport coordinators in finding the right transport solution
  • Key interface between business and IT in the roll-out of new SAP processes and IT developments related to transport processes
  • Drive Transport Excellence by providing benchmarks and sharing best-practice solutions across the global transport community
  • Drive process efficieny improvements in necessary but non-value added processes by lean administration projects
  • Support GRP Logistics Procurement in preparation of contracts and service level agreements
  • Lead the annual transportation budget process
Background and Experience
  • Degree in economics, engineering etc. or equivalent by experience
  • 7 years of experience with logistics processes in an international context
  • Experience in a broader context of supply chain (planning, forecasting, purchasing, logistics…) is a must
  • Knowledge of Transport Management Systems is recommended
  • Key user knowledge and experience in SAP R/3 system (SD module is a must, others nice to have)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Results oriented and customer minded, able to identify and implement meaningful continuous improvement opportunities
  • Flexible and stress resistant
  • Good communication skills and able to establish effective working relationships
  • Excellent knowledge of English, any other language is an asset
  • Willing to travel (short trips within and outside of Europe)
