Mission of the position

CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture and maintenance of modern rolling stock.

For its belgian subsidiairy, CAF has been chosen by De Lijn to design and manufacture 146 new trams for the Flanders. Those vehicles are currently being produced in our factory in Zaragoza (Spain). For the last months, approximatively 20 trams have been delivered in Antwerp where they are being tested before their commissioning. Thus, more and more of those new vehicles are already in service with passengers along the city.

For this project we are currently looking for a Warranty technician.

The position

As a Warranty Technician you have a technical background, you are experienced in finding malfunctions and are capable of finding solutions to improve complex systems. The Warranty Technician detects, diagnoses and gives technical information on the issues found. You write reports, analyze the technical issues with the Warranty Manager and implement solutions.

As a Warranty Technician, you will also perform any other tasks as assigned by your supervisor. You will mostly be working in day shifts. However according to the workload, afternoon and night shifts could occur from time to time. Working one day during the weekend is also expected approximatively once a month.

The Warranty Technician reports to the Team leader and Warranty manager.

Requirements

• A degree in either Electrics, Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics (Bachelor +3);
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable position or in the maintenance of comparable installations, for example the railway, industrial, maritime or aviation industry;
• Good knowledge of complex and high-quality technical installations and familiarity with electrical engineering, control technology and mechanics;
• Eager to learn and challenged by solving technical problems;
• Stress resistant and able to work under pressure;
• Organized, detailed, efficient and assertive;
• Preferably fluent in Dutch and a good level of English (both speaking and understanding);
• Must be in possession of a valid work- and residence permit.

CAF Belgium offers a competitive salary with 20 holidays per annum and 12 recuperation days based on a fulltime contract of 40 hours per week, meal tickets, ecocheques, hospitalization- and group insurance.
