The AGC Group, is a world-leading supplier of flat, automotive and display glass, chemicals and other high-tech materials and components. The Headquarters of AGC Glass Europe are located in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium.

AGC produces glass for construction (external glazing and indoor decorative glass) and for the automotive industry. The Automotive Glass division develops, produces, and commercializes a broad range of products such as windshields, side windows, rear windscreens and panoramic roofs, with advanced features: heated windshields, infrared and UV protection, head-up displays…

AGC Automotive Europe specializes in providing customers with complete solutions in terms of car glazing and related technologies. It includes production and sales of products to vehicle manufacturers (Cars and Trains) in terms of Glazing, Added Value products and components systems; as well as a complete range of service in the aftermarket area from production to distribution and retail.

A new AGC dedicated structure called Incubation Factory has been created in order to take the lead on start-up activity of AGC Automotive Europe. For example our WIDEYE® start-up creates new solutions for the autonomous vehicles (https://www.wideye.vision).

Your role & work environment:

As the Wideye Quality System Manager, you are in charge of designing, implementing and managing the Wideye® automotive quality system, with the full support of the operational team (Industrialization, Investigation, Program manager, Supply chain, Engineering, Design).

You will work hand in hand with the Wideye Product & Process Quality Manager, providing expertise on quality and certification systems, but also providing some support to develop the competitiveness of Wideye’s product/service range

You will have chance to work in a fast-moving « start-up » mode, while having the benefits of a big and successful company, recognized in the automotive industry, as well as being part of a close team working on the development of innovative mobility solutions.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will install the automotive compliant Wideye® Quality System
  • Quality assurance- Ensure end-to-end project quality (from product design to mass production, going through prototyping) - automotive and optical quality for Wideye products
  • Quality control- Manage and implement the quality control and processes (based on specifications, internal/external audits,…) – using state-of-the-art quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, Control plan, MSA, capability studies, … 8D, PDCA, …).
  • Establish in-process inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods.
  • Define and track Quality KPIs
  • Ensure Supplier compliance with Wideye® quality standards
  • Certification – you will ensure through Automotive certification (IATF, VDA 6.3) the trust our customer will be able to find towards our processes and our products
  • Homologation– you will follow the establishment of homologation standards by official authorities in an emerging business
  • Methods - Confirm and validate standard methods. Implement new and improve methods if needed (e.g. Six Sigma method)
  • You will support operational programs, with Product & Process Quality Manager In the project design phase, develop, support and advice Wideye® customers (OEM, tier 1’s and LiDAR suppliers) in all technical questions.

Define product specifications in agreement with customer requirement and if needed propose an appropriate standard. Follow up and design validation plans for automotive applications - be responsible for reviewing design drawing for tolerances and quality matters.

  • In the quotation phase, for and with the account manager, pilot and coordinate the internal teams to identify the main quality risks that could impact the profitability and the global success of the project
  • In the industrialization phase, support the Wideye® Program Management System:
  • Act as the key-keeper of Wideye’s products and process quality, willing to develop optimal solutions from economical / technical / timing points of view, negotiate the technical issues with the customer
  • Support manufacturing line materialization (supervision, coordination, control) according to customer specifications
  • Support product industrialization and production ramp up
  • Support manufacturing operations management

Support customer claims and non-conformities management.

  • University degree, engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferable in the automotive/mobility industry
  • Relevant experience in quality management, relevant experience in optical systems (lenses, cameras,..) is a plus
  • You have a deep knowledge about optical and/or automotive quality requirements
  • You have proven ability to implement change within existing organization (change management)
  • Good IT Skills (MS Office, Project)
  • Autonomous, entrepreneurial spirit, agile, willing to work within dynamic team, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong project management, planning, organization & communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within Europe or Internationally
  • Business fluency in English is mandatory.
