DHL Express is looking for a Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer & HR Supportin Diegem, Belgium.

This role has two main responsibilites:

  • Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing - 50%: Develop and administer health, safety and environment plans and processes to mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace, providing employees with a safe and healthy working environment in line with the legislative requirements, business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies.
  • HR Administration Support - 50%: Administer various HR processes and policies by providing day-to-day HR support and solutions to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain employees to achieve business objectives in line with business needs, overarching HR plans/ policies and current legislation.

YOUR TASKS

Work Health, Wellbing & Safety

  • Act as the Safety / Prevention Officer for the Diegem office, you will fulfil the statutory tasks of a Prevention Advisor in an internal prevention service.
  • Carry out secretarial work of the CPBW (Health & Safety Committee) with responsibiltiy for organization of meeting, taking minutes and following up on actions as required.
  • Actively follow up work accidents and all other relevant H&S issues, and liaise with external insurer (AXA).
  • Provide H&S advice when new work equipment, products, processes or projects are implemented.
  • Ensure accurate administration and reporting.
  • Main point of contact and liason for external partners such as the medical service, the occupational doctor and the accident insurer.
  • Act as person of trust for bullying and harassment claims.
  • Proactively scout psychological impacts.
  • Responsible for ensuring emergency plans for the site such as evacuation, fire, incidents, etc are up to date.
  • Along with ensuring First Aid Kits are replenished and a fire wardens / first aiders trained.
  • Draw up risk analyses and safety instruction cards and evaluate them on an ongoing basis.
  • Keep up to date with the (new) legislation concerning your work area
  • You follow up the DPDHL Global Health & Wellbeing Program and carry out actions for it.
  • Lead projects linked to Health and Safety improvement.

HR Administation:

  • Be the point of contact for all human resources administration related queries.
  • Preparing formal HR documents such as variation letters, communications etc.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and advising line managers of due process, plus assisting with shortlisting, interviewing and pre-employment checks as required.
  • Manage On-boarding, including the induction of new employees and off-boarding activities, including exit interviews for employees in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, such as work permit and relocation agencies and the Shared Services/Payroll team, as required.
  • Update documentation such as job descriptions, inductions and new employee documentation etc.
  • Participate in the coordination of rewards and recognition programs.
  • Provide support to HR projects and any other HR adminstrative support as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Certification in HR preferred but not essential.
  • Current qualification Prevention Advisor Level 2 required.
  • A qualification as Prevention Advisor Level 1 is preferred but this qualification can be obtained within the first year.
  • Good knowledge of MS software.
  • Experience in a similar position and in a logistics and/or head office environment.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience in Administration.
  • Proven experience of building & maintaining relationships.
  • Fluent in and able to communicate in Dutch and English (written and oral).
