Context and purpose of the mission

Accelerate is a strategic program designed to transform our business processes, enhancing their efficiency (higher automation, new operating models, etc) and improving their effectiveness leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence. This global initiative which will foster our culture of innovation will involve close collaboration across all departments and regions, requiring exceptional project management and change management skills.

As an AI Business Partner, you will act as a catalyst for AI adoption within Aperam. You will partner with business units and process owners to understand their strategic priorities and translate them into tangible AI use cases. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, developing business cases, and overseeing the implementation and evaluation of AI solutions. This role requires a blend of technical understanding, business acumen, and strong communication skills.

What you will do

  • Business Partnership:
    - Build strong relationships with business units and process owners across Aperam.
    - Understand their challenges, objectives, and strategic priorities.
    - Identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage AI to improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
  • AI Use Case Development:
    - Foster the identification of profitable AI use cases by leveraging your domain/functional expertise and knowledge of AI applications in similar industries.
    - Collaborate with process owners to define clear objectives, scope, and success criteria for each use case.
    - Support the design of robust business cases, ensuring alignment with the Accelerate program’s goals and Aperam’s overall strategy.
  • Implementation & Support:
    - Oversee the development and implementation of AI solutions, either through internal resources or by leveraging external partners.
    - Ensure adherence to project lifecycle governance and best practices.
    - Provide guidance and support to business units throughout the implementation process.
  • Benefits Realization:
    - Track and measure the actual benefits realized from AI initiatives against the defined business cases.
    - Identify any roadblocks or challenges hindering the achievement of expected outcomes.
    - Continuously evaluate and optimize AI solutions to maximize their impact.

What you will bring

  • 2-5 years of experience in applying AI/ML solutions to business problems, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related^ discipline.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts, techniques, and applications.
  • Domain expertise in one or more functional areas, such as operations, supply chain, finance, or marketing.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
