Located on the edge of Adelaide’s CBD adjacent to the beautiful South Eastern Park Lands, St Andrew’s is the largest independent private Hospital in Australia, with 40,000 procedures being performed each year. St Andrew’s provides a comprehensive suite of cancer services, offering patients the medical expertise and support services expected from a centre of excellence. Our 3rd Floor Ward Nursing Team contributes to these services through the care of oncology patients as well as those who have recently undergone gynaecological, plastic or breast surgery.We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses for a 10 month parental leave cover contract as a Clinical Nurse Breast Care Coordinator (RN Level 2).
About You
It is expected you will have significant experience in Breast Care Nursing with a minimum of 4 years in an acute setting primarily in the area of breast cancer and surgical reconstruction. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate core nursing values of patient centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients and colleagues as well strong clinical knowledge, well-developed time management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as a key team member.
About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a solid background in Breast Care and previous leadership experience, or is a great next step for someone with aspirations towards a career in nursing leadership. You will coordinate and deliver a comprehensive Breast Care service for patients undergoing surgery and related treatment for Breast Cancer, assuming responsibility for the nursing plan of care and is accountable for, patient care management decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the plan. Our Clinical Nurses perform an important leadership role by promoting a culture of clinical excellence based on person centred care. You will provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, whilst assisting the Clinical Manager to effectively coordinate the team to deliver superior outcomes for our patients. Our Clinical Nurses also hold responsibility for a portfolio of work (supported by the manager).
Other Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering and monitoring day-to-day nursing practice in line with clinical standards, policies and procedures;
- Assisting the Clinical Manager to monitor and manage the performance of nursing staff within the work area, including mentoring and coaching others, and contributing to their ongoing professional education;
- Liaising with Medical Officers and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and care;
- Contributing to initiatives and projects that improve patient care
Hours
This is a parental leave cover contract with an expected conclusion in November 2022. although there may be an opportunity for extension beyond this point. The position is 60 hours a fortnight across Monday - Friday.
