What will you do?For our Schneider Electricdivision, we are looking for an Application Design Engineer Digital Power (M/W) who works for the region of Belgium, based in Ukkel,BelgiumYour meaningful purposeIn the Energy Efficiency Competency Center, we assist our customers in making rational use of energy. This way we reduce the operational costs and limit the impact on the environment.To reduce and monitor energy consumption, we implement management systems consisting of hardware and software. Measurement data for electricity, gas, water, etc. are stored in a central SQL database through communicating devices (measuring devices, protection units of circuit breakers, pulse concentrators, programmable logic Controllers, etc.). This historical and real-time data can be consulted with our management software.Data can be analysed on the basis of graphs, reports and dashboards so that opportunities for energy savings can be detected. After implementing solutions, the savings results can be monitored over time.Other possibilities of our management system with regard to the operational efficiency of the customer’s infrastructure are monitoring the network quality (harmonics, etc.) of the electrical system, detecting faults through alarms (shutdowns, exceeding of thresholds, etc.), re-invoicing energy consumption and visual monitoring of the systems on graphical pages.We are looking for a passionate engineer (M/W) to join our team.Your Daily Task And Responsibilities
  • You work in close contact with your manager.
  • In cooperation with the sales team you are responsible for the promotion, technical support and sale of management systems with its software and hardware.
  • You translate the need of the customer in a solution.
  • You make price calculations according to a specific request or specifications.
  • You present your commercial proposal together with the technical plan to the customer.
  • You carry out the projects and service contracts taking into account the deadlines, the correct implementation, the financial project management and a trusting relationship with the client.
  • You work 50% at our offices in Ukkel and 50% at our clients’ sites.
Who are you?
  • You are an industrial engineer in electromechanics/electricity.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and French and also have a good command of English.
  • You are a team player who can also work independently.
  • You are result and customer oriented (with a commercial attitude).
  • You are good at communicating with colleagues and customers and you like to have many contacts.
  • You are a dynamic person with an inquisitive attitude.
  • Interest in information technology is a must.
  • Experience of SQL and programming languages is a plus.
  • You have a Class B driving licence.
