Functie
Arvestar Asset Management is a recently created regulated Fund Management Company headquartered in Brussels incorporated as a joint venture between Argenta Asset Management (AAM, member of the Argenta Bank & Verzekeringen Group) and Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM, member of the Degroof Petercam Group).
Total assets under management amount to about four billion.

Risk Officer
Function
The Risk Officer is responsible for the permanent risk monitoring of the Funds under management by Arvestar and to manage/report on the different risks the Asset Management company is subject to.
The function holder is also in charge of the implementation of the required policies, procedures and internal controls. For this purpose, the Risk Officer will also perform oversight controls on the activities subcontracted to third parties.
The function reports hierarchically to the Chief Risk Officer of Arvestar.
In this role you will :
- Manage and reconcile multiple information systems to efficiently issue reports that matter and to reconcile accounting and the fund management information;
- Monitor, analyse and report on risk exposure (market, ESG, credit, liquidity,…), and performance of the managed funds;
- Conduct compliance control on the funds’ portfolios (legal rules, ESG criteria, internal limits and guidelines) and report limit breaches;
- Establish regular reporting to Argenta Group on nonfinancial risks the Asset Management company is subject to in line with the Argenta standards;
- Perform oversight controls on the Portfolio Manager, the Fund administrator, Custodian and the Distributor;
- Provide reporting to the CRO, the Management Board and the Board of Directors of Arvestar and the UCITS under management;
- Provide support as to the organization of meetings, projects and committees steered by the Risk Management function of Arvestar;
- Provide support in drafting/updating/storing policies & procedures and internal control reports/risk assessments/documentation for different stakeholders.
Profiel
Your profile
- Master degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a risk or middle office function or an Asset Management company;
- Capable to work simultaneously on several topics;
- Capacity and strong interest to manage and reconcile multiple information systems to confirm valuations, monitor positions and to issue efficiently reports that matters;
- Analytical skills and critical mind;
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft applications;
- Pro-active, flexible, pragmatic with a “can-do” mentality;
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Eager to work in a start-up environment;
- Accurate, critical mind and drive for continuous optimization of processes;
- Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
