Job Description

Your contribution

As the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for the accounting, financial controls, financial analysis, and business partnering for the Belgium operations. You will work closely with centralized accounting and credit and collection peers across Teledyne FLIR to ensure close deadlines and corporate reporting requirements are delivered accurately and on time. You will identify opportunities to streamline processes and shorten the close cycles while increasing the accuracy and insights of the organization. You will work on ad hoc operational projects involving supply chain, distribution, and sales to improve on-time delivery of shipments, reduce managed working capital.

  • Partner with centralized accounting team to ensure close and corporate reporting requirements are met on time and accurately
  • Responsible for coordinating semi-annual cost rolls with peers at Teledyne FLIR’s manufacturing plants, running quarterly E&O analysis, and oversight of cycle counts and annual physical stock counts
  • Ensuring accurate quarter-end revenue deferrals and reserves
  • Responsible for establishing cost center budgets for local operating expenses
  • Work with the sales organization to ensure proper accounting treatment of partner programs and analyze commercial relationships to drive margin improvement
  • Responsible for SOX controls are being performed in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Perform monthly and quarterly expense trend review to ensure accuracy and completeness of accruals
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and short close cycle
  • Coordinate with internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Support analysis and other tasks to optimize the performance of the business
  • Collaborate with Operations, Credit & Collections, and Sales at the end of the quarter to resolve issues
  • Support local administrative and governance affairs for FLIR’s Belgium entity
To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have
  • High skills in accounting or finance with little need of supervision or support
  • Comfort in working in a global and fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • A collaborative approach, and works well with others
  • A self-starter attitude and a curious mind who asks questions, pursues solving challenging ambiguous problems
  • a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Anaplan, or other relevant systems considered a plus
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, speaking and writing
